Fishing Guide in Punta Gorda

Fishing out of Punta Gorda means we can work the deepwater channels where the harbor meets the Gulf, the grass flats to the west, or the tidal stretches of the Peace River. The city itself has good boat ramps and easy access to productive water. What I love about running charters from here is the variety. We can target tarpon and snook in the main harbor one day, or run up the Peace River for a more secluded redfish session the next.

The bite changes with the seasons like anywhere in Southwest Florida. Summer brings the tarpon migration and hot seatrout action on the flats. Fall is snook season as the water cools. Winter and early spring are excellent for redfish and seatrout in the shallower areas. The Peace River influence makes the water right around Punta Gorda slightly more brackish, which affects which species show up and where. I know these waters intimately after years of running charters from this base.
