Fishing Guide in Boca Grande

Boca Grande Pass is not a place for beginners. The water is deep, the currents are fierce, and the fish are enormous. But if you've ever dreamed of battling a 100-plus-pound tarpon on a charter, this is where it happens. The pass funnels massive amounts of water in and out with the tides, and the tarpon follow the baitfish through this corridor. The fishing is seasonal, with the biggest tarpon showing up from April through July, though some fish linger into late summer.

What makes Boca Grande special beyond the fish is the history. This area has been a tarpon fishing destination for over a century, and you can feel that legacy on the water. The fishing is challenging, no question. The currents require precise anchoring and presentation. But when a big tarpon eats your bait and takes off on a screaming run, there's nothing else like it. I only run charters to Boca Grande when conditions are right, because safety comes first in that demanding water.
