Fishing Guide in Englewood
Englewood sits where Lemon Bay meets the Gulf, giving us everything from protected grass flats to oyster bars and mangrove shorelines. I fish these waters year-round because the variety of structure holds fish in every season.
Fishing Englewood
Lemon Bay is my go-to when I want consistent action on the flats. The grass beds here are thick with Speckled Trout in the cooler months, and Redfish cruise the edges of the oyster bars looking for crabs and baitfish. I pole the boat quietly through the shallows, watching for tails and wakes, and we sight-cast to fish that are actively feeding. Snook stack up around the mangrove points and dock pilings, especially during the warmer months when they move in to ambush pilchards and pinfish.
Summer brings Tarpon rolling through the passes and along the beaches, and we target them with live bait or flies depending on what you want to throw. Jack Crevalle show up in schools and will crush anything that moves, giving you a workout on light tackle. In spring and fall, Pompano run the sand bars and we work jigs along the bottom in the clear water just off the beach. Black Drum move into the shallows during their spawn in late winter, and we find them tailing in water so skinny you can see their backs.
A charter out of Englewood means we have options. If the wind is up, we stay inside Lemon Bay and work the protected shorelines. If it lays down, we run out to the Gulf beaches or hit the passes where the current pulls bait and the predators follow. Every trip is different because the water changes with the tide, the season, and what the fish are doing that day. I read the conditions and put you on the best bite available.
